SPRUILL LEADS MENíS TRACK & FIELD
AT UMASS BOSTON INVITATIONAL

Boston, Mass.-Junior Shamar Spruill (Providence, RI) recorded a second place finish in the weight throw (16.14m) to lead the Rhode Island College menís indoor track & field squad at the UMass Boston Invitational, hosted at the Reggie Lewis Center on Saturday. It was an individual meet with no team scoring.

 

RIC senior Vincent Santos (Narragansett, RI) placed fifth in the 60m hurdles (8.98) with junior Matthew Charles (North Providence, RI) taking 15th place in the 200m (23.55).

Junior Jake Brierly (Lincoln, RI) had a 12th place finish in the weight throw (12.43m), while freshman Joe Palazzo (Providence, RI) finished in 16th place in the weight throw (11.54m).

 

RIC had a pair of runners place in the top-10 in the 400m as sophomore Destin Bibemi (Providence, RI) finished eighth (52.28) and senior Joel Ikuejamofo (Providence, RI) was right behind him in ninth place (52.39).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Northeastern Invitational on Saturday, Dec 10 (11 a.m.).
