ANCHORWOMEN COMPETE AT

JOHN THOMAS TERRIER CLASSIC

Boston, Mass.--The Rhode Island College women’s indoor track & field team competed at the John Thomas Terrier Classic, hosted by Boston University and held at the Reggie Lewis Center on Friday evening. It was an individual meet with no team scoring.

 

RIC sophomore Melanie Brunelle (Warwick, RI) notched a 10th place finish in the triple jump (11.09m) and was 13th in the high jump (1.60m).

Sophomore Eleni Grammas (Cranston, RI) took 32nd place in the 60m (8.12) and registered a 58th place in the 200m (26.19). Sophomore Nicole Grammas (Cranston, RI) recorded a 61st-place finish in the 400m (1:00.27) and was 120th in the 200m (27.37). Freshman Chevell Burgess (Providence, RI) recorded a 59th place finish in the 60m hurdles (10.12) and was 91st in the 200m (26.80).

 

Freshman Emma Landroche (Warwick, RI) was 50th in the 60m (8.37), while fellow rookie Jacklyn Xavier (Cumberland, RI) took 46th in the 60m (8.32) and 88th in the 200m (26.73).

 

Freshman Cassidy Bissitt (Smithfield, RI) was in 119th place in the 800m (2:36.02) and sophomore Margaret McCaffrey (East Greenwich, RI) finished in 36th in the 1,000m (3:10.53).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the University of Rhode Island Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 4 (11 a.m.).
