RIC MENíS TRACK & FIELD PICKS UP PAIR OF
WEEKLY LITTLE EAST CONFERENCE AWARDS

Providence, R.I.-The Little East Conference recognized several members of the Rhode Island College menís track & field team for their respective performances at the URI Coaches Tribute Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 4.

 

Freshman Jephte Wagnac (Providence, RI) was named the Little East Menís Rookie Field Athlete of the Week, while the 4x400m relay team was named the LEC Menís Relay Team of the Week.

Wagnac placed sixth in the triple jump (12.90m), ninth in the 400m (52.63) and 16th in the long jump (5.80m). He also placed second as a member of the 4x400m relay (3:24.87).

 

The 4x400m relay team posted a time of 3:24.87 for a second place finish. The relay team consisted of Wagnac, sophomore Destin Bibemi (Providence, RI), freshman Levon Campbell (Newport, RI) and senior Joel Ikuejamofo (Providence, RI). The time was the second fastest effort in that event this season for the Anchormen.

 

In upcoming action, RIC will travel to the 2017 Little East Championship, hosted by Southern Maine on Saturday, Feb. 11 (10:00 a.m.)
