ANCHORWOMEN POST SEASON-HIGH SCORE IN
THIRD PLACE EFFORT AT BROWN QUAD-MEET

 Providence, R.I.--The Rhode Island College women's gymnastics team notched a third place finish at a quad-match hosted by Brown University on Sunday afternoon. The Anchorwomen posted their highest team score of the season (177.650), while the Div. I host Bears won the meet (192.650). Div. II Southern Connecticut finished second (190.850) and the University of Rhode Island (club) finished fourth (171.650).

 

RIC sophomore Kyndel Yett (Carrollton, GA) recorded a 10th place finish on vault (9.450) and was 12th on floor (9.100). Yett's effort on beam was the team's top score on that event.

 

 

 Sophomore Miranda Murphy

 

Sophomore Miranda Murphy (Lansdale, PA) was second in the all-around (35.850) for the Anchorwomen. She finished 15th on vault (9.325), 18th on bars (8.325), 11th on beam (9.250), 15th on floor (9.100). Murphy's effort on beam was the team's top score on that event.

 

Sophomore Allie DiBiase (North Kingstown) notched a third place finish in the all-around (35.825). DiBiase was 13th on vault (9.350), 19th on bards (8.300), 13th on beam (9.125) and 13th on floor (9.050),

 

Freshman Violet Pinola (Rumford, RI) led RIC on bars, placing 13th (8.550).

 

 In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will travel to Southern Connecticut for a quad-match with Yale and Springfield on Friday, Feb. 17 (5 p.m.).
