ANCHORWOMEN PUT UP SEASON-HIGH SCORE IN FOURTH PLACE FINISH AT SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT

New Haven, Conn.-The Rhode Island College womenís gymnastics team posted a season-best score of 179.350 for a fourth place finish at the Southern Connecticut Quad Match on Friday evening. Yale took home the team title (192.450) with host Southern Connecticut finishing in second place (188.050). Springfield was in third place (185.100) at the event.

 

RIC sophomore Allie DiBiase (North Kingstown) notched a second place in the all-around (36.100). DiBiase was the Anchorwomenís top finisher on floor with a 15th place finish (9.425) and was 16th on vault (9.350).

Sophomore Kyndel Yett (Carrollton, GA) recorded a 14th-place finish on vault (9.400), the highest finish on that event for the Anchorwomen.

 

Freshman Violet Pinola (Rumford, RI) was the teamís top finisher on beam with an eighth place finish (9.375) and placed 19th on bars (8.475). Freshman Grace Davis (Royersford, PA) finished ninth on beam (9.350), while junior Cailee Mallory (Rye, NH) was 10th on the same event (9.325) for the Anchorwomen.

 

 In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will travel to the Ithaca College Invitational on Sunday, Feb. 26 (1:00 p.m.).
