WAGNAC, CAMPBELL & SPRUILL
EARN ALL-NEW ENGLAND HONORS

Medford, Mass.-Freshman Jephte Wagnac (Providence, RI), freshman Levon Campbell (Newport, RI) and junior Shamar Spruill (Providence, RI) each earned All-New England honors to lead the menís indoor track & field team to a 16th place tie (27 teams) at the 2017 New England Div. III Championships hosted by Tufts on Saturday afternoon. The Anchormen finished with 10 points, while Tufts took home the team title with 127 points.

 

Wagnac earned All-New England honors with a sixth place finish in the 400m (50.68) and as part of the seventh place 4x400m relay team (3:25.23).

Campbell earned All-New England accolades with an eighth place finish in the 200m (22.73) and as part of the seventh place 4x400m relay team (3:25.23).

Spruill rounded out the All-New England performers for the Anchormen, placing fifth in the weight throw (16.03m).

 

 

 Junior Shamar Spruill

 

Sophomore Destin Bibemi (Providence, RI) earned All-New England honors as part of the seventh place 4x400m relay team (3:25.23). He also registered a 17th place finish in the 400m (52.47).

 

 Senior Joel Ikuejamofo (Providence, RI) earned All-New England honors as part of the seventh place 4x400m relay team (3:25.23).

 

Junior Vincent Santos (Narragansett, RI) recorded a 16th place finish in the 60m hurdles (9.00).

 

Junior Matthew Charles (North Providence, RI) recorded an 18th place finish in the 200m (23.07).

 

In upcoming action, the Anchormen will travel to the 2017 New England Open Championship, held at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston on Fri. and Sat., Feb. 24-25 (10 a.m.).
