GRAMMAS & BRUNELLE LEAD WOMEN'S INDOOR
TRACK & FIELD AT NEW ENGLAND OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS

Boston, Mass.-The Rhode Island College women’s indoor track & field team competed at the 2017 New England Open Championships, held at the Reggie Lewis Center on Saturday. The Anchorwomen did not score as a team. Northeastern won the meet with a score of 151.0.

 

RIC sophomore Eleni Grammas (Cranston, RI) finished 18th in the 200m (26.20) and was 23rd in the 60m (8.03). Classmate Melanie Brunelle (Warwick, RI) notched a 10th place finish in the triple jump (11.10m).

Junior Destinee Barrette (Warwick, RI) finished 16th in the weight throw (14.95m), while sophomore Margaret McCaffrey (East Greenwich, RI) was 21st in the 1,000m (3:12.99) for the Anchorwomen.

 

Freshman Emma Landroche (Warwick, RI) took 28th in the 200m (26.59). Freshman Jacklyn Xavier (Cumberland, RI) finished in 31st place in the 200m (26.84). Sophomore Nicole Grammas (Cranston, RI) had a 21st place finish in the 400m (59.81).

 

In upcoming action, The Anchormen will travel to Tufts for a Last Chance Meet on Saturday, March 4 (11 a.m.).
