BENJAMIN VEZELE NAMED TO LITTLE EAST CONFERENCE
MENíS BASKETBALL ALL-DEFENSIVE TEAM

Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island College sophomore forward Benjamin Vezele (Providence, RI) was named to the Little East Conference All-Defensive Team for his performance in menís basketball during the 2016-17 season.

 

Vezele played in 22 games, starting 17 of them. He averaged 12.5 ppg, 8.9 rpg, 1.1 apg, 2.1 bpg and 1.0 spg. Vezele led the LEC in blocks with 47 on the year, while his 21 steals ranked 30th in the conference. He also was among the conference leaders in scoring as his 12.5 points ranked him 11th in the league. His 8.9 rpg average was good for fifth in the conference. Vezele notched nine double-doubles on the season and led the Anchormen in scoring and rebounding 15 times during the year.

 

 

 

Head Coach Michael Byrnes team finished the 2016-17 season with an 11-14 overall record and a 5-9 (sixth place tie) mark in the Little East Conference.
