BRUNELLE, BARRETTE & SPRUILL COMPETE
AT TUFTS LAST CHANCE MEET

Medford, Mass.-Three members of the Rhode Island College menís & womenís indoor track & field teams traveled to Tufts to compete at the Last Chance Meet held at the Gantcher Center on Saturday afternoon.

 

RIC sophomore Melanie Brunelle (Warwick, RI), the 2017 Little East Conference Field Athlete of the Year and an All-New England performer, captured first place in the triple jump (11.56m) and finished seventh in the high jump (1.55m).

Junior Destinee Barrette (Warwick, RI), also an All-New England performer for RIC, notched a fourth place finish in the weight throw (15.44m).

Junior Shamar Spruill (Providence, RI), who earned All-New England accolades this season, had a sixth place finish (16.15m) in the weight throw for the Anchormen.

Rhode Island College will find out on Monday if it has any qualifiers for the upcoming NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field National Championships, held on March 10-11 in Naperville, IL.
