ANCHORWOMEN POST HIGHEST TEAM SCORE IN
OVER 15 YEARS AT BRIDGEPORT QUAD
Three Anchorwomen Join RIC Record Book

Bridgeport, Conn.-The Rhode Island College womenís gymnastics team recorded a season-best score of 182.950 for a fourth place finish at a quad-meet hosted by Bridgeport on Tuesday evening. The team score is the highest total for the Anchorwomen since prior to the 2001-02 campaign. Host Div. II Bridgeport took home the team title (194.450) for the event. Div. I Brown (192.425) and Div. II Southern Connecticut (190.350) finished second and third, respectively.

 

 

 

RIC sophomore Allie DiBiase (North Kingstown) notched a career-best score (37.050) in the all-around for a fifth place finish. DiBiase finished 15th on beam (9.250), 17th on bars (8.900), 18th on vault (9.500) and 19th on floor (9.400).

 

Sophomore Miranda Murphy (Lansdale, PA) placed sixth in the all-around (33.625) for the Anchorwomen, highlighted by a 17th place finish on beam (9.225).

 

Sophomore Kyndel Yett (Carrollton, GA) recorded a 16th place finish on bars (8.925), the highest finish on that event for the Anchorwomen. Yett was also RICís top finisher on vault with a 13th place finish (9.575). Her score of 9.575 on vault is the fifth highest score in program history.

 

RIC freshman Grace Davis (Royersford, PA) registered the highest score for RIC on beam with a 14th place effort (9.500). It was the second-highest score in program hsitory on that event. Junior Corrine Paul (North Easton, PA) finished in 16th on vault (9.550) and was 18th on bars (8.850) for the Anchorwomen. Her 9.550 on vault tied for the sixth-highest score in program history.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will travel to the Springfield College Quad on Saturday, March 11 (1 p.m.).
