LAMBRESE POSTS DOUBLE-DOUBLE IN, 3-2,
LOSS AT WORCESTER STATE

Providence, R.I.-The Rhode Island College women’s volleyball team dropped a heartbreaking, 3-2 (26-28, 25-21, 12-25, 25-16, 13-15), decision at Worcester State on Tuesday evening

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Senior outside hitter Courtney Lambrese (Cranston, RI) once again registered a double-double for RIC with 19 kills and 18 digs.

• RIC junior outside hitter Jillian Ward (Coventry, RI) notched 18 kills and a team-best 19 digs.

 • RIC senior setter Abigayl White (Coventry, RI) tallied 44 set assists in the setback.

• Worcester State was paced by junior outside hitter Emily Carens (Northborough, MA) with 19 kills and 20 digs.

• WSU junior setter Allie Nolan (Melrose, MA) had 42 set assists in the victory for the Lancers

 

BY THE NUMBERS

• RIC registered a .213 (66 kills, 28 errors, 178 attempts) hitting percentage, while Worcester State hit .140 (48 kills, 24 errors, 172 attempts) in the win.

• The Anchorwomen had just five service aces, compared to 16 for the Lancers.

• RIC held a 90-78 advantage in digs for the contest

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will play at Curry on Thursday, Sept. 7 (7 p.m.).
