ANCHORWOMEN FALL, 354-371, TO SUFFOLK

Canton, Mass.-The Rhode Island College women’s golf team fell to Suffolk, 354-371, in the club’s season-opening match at the Brookmeadow Country Club on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• RIC freshman Meghan Mahan (North Andover, MA) and sophomore Nicole Langella (Pembroke, MA) led the way for the Anchorwomen with matching 87’s. That score was the second best on the par-72 course.

• Junior Meghan Rocheleau (Warwick, RI) shot a 97, while sophomore Jean Marie Arnold (Westerly, RI) carded a score of 100 for the Anchorwomen.

• Suffolk freshman Brooke Champman (Holden, MA) had the low score for the match, carding an 83.

 

BY THE NUMBERS
• RIC’s score of 371 established a new school record, breaking the previous mark of 412 set last season at the Westfield State Tri-Match (Apr. 23, 2017).

 

WHO'S NEXT
In upcoming action,
Rhode Island College will travel to the Mount Holyoke Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 23-24 (9:30 am).
