CARISSA GAGLIONE NAMED LITTLE EAST
WOMEN’S SOCCER ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island College freshman goalkeeper Carissa Gaglione (West Warwick, RI) was named the Little East Conference Women’s Soccer Rookie of the Week for her performance in a 2-1 week for the Anchorwomen. It is the second time this season Gaglione has received this honor.

 

Gaglione recorded seven saves to record her first career shutout in the Anchorwomen’s, 3-0, win at Southern Maine on Sept. 23. Earlier in the week, Gaglione picked up the win in relief in the team’s, 5-3, win over Dean on Sept. 18. For the season, she has played in six games, starting four of them. Gaglione is 3-2-0 with a 1.46 goals against average, 25 saves and an .806 save percentage.

 

 

 

Head Coach Christina Pirri’s team is 3-5-1 overall and 1-1 in the Little East.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will travel to Lesley on Thursday, Sept. 28 (8 p.m.).
