CHARLIE TASHJIAN TABBED LITTLE EAST
MEN'S SOCCER ROOKIE AND GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island College freshman goalkeeper Charlie Tashjian (West Warwick, RI) was named the Little East Conference Menís Soccer Rookie and Goalkeeper of the Week for the second straight week. This marks the fourth time this season that Tashjian has been tabbed as the conferenceís top rookie.

 

Tashjian (6-5-1) made three saves in the teamís, 1-0, win against Worcester State on Oct. 10 and followed that up with 11 stops in a 1-0 setback at Western Connecticut on Oct. 15.

 

 

 

For the season, he has played in 13 games, starting 12 of them. He has posted a 1.34 goals against average, 69 saves and a .802 save percentage, while recording three shutouts, on the season.

 

Head Coach John Melloís team is 6-6-1 overall and 3-2 in the Little East.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will play at Westfield State on Wednesday, Oct. 18 (7 p.m.).
