ELIMANE SEYE NAMED LITTLE EAST CONFERENCE
MENíS SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island College senior back Elimane Seye (Providence, RI) was named the Little East Conference Menís Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in a 1-1 week for the Anchormen. This marks the second time this season that Seye has taken home the honor.

 

Seye scored the lone goal and anchored a RIC defense that held Keene State scoreless in a 1-0 win against the Owls on Saturday. The Anchormen limited the Owls to just six shots, only one of which was on goal, in the important league victory.

 

 

 

The standout defender has been a key performer for the Anchormen this season, helping the team post four shutouts and allowing just 21 goals in 15 games on the year. He has played in 14 games, starting all of them. Seye has three goals for six points.

 

Head Coach John Melloís team is 7-7-1 overall and 4-2 in the Little East.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will play at Johnson & Wales on Tuesday, Oct. 24 (4 p.m.).
