GREG GAMMELL RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS
NEIGA GORDON MCCULLOUGH AWARD

Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island College Head Menís Golf Coach Greg Gammell received the prestigious Gordon McCullough Award at the 83rd New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championships on Saturday, Oct. 23.

 

The award is given annually to the college coach in New England for commitment to the sport of golf and for contributions to players, coaches and local & regional golf committees. The award, named for the late University of Hartford coach Gordon McCullough, is based on a poll of coaches in the region.

 

 

 

Gammell is in his 12th season as Rhode Island College's head menís golf coach. During his tenure with the Anchormen, his teams have won five titles and registered five second place finishes at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships. In addition, his teams made five consecutive appearances at the NCAA Div. III Championships (2012-16) and won back-to-back NEIGA Div. III Championships (2016, 2015). He has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Coach of The Year five times (2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011) during his illustrious career.

 

In addition to his coaching duties, Gammell is the Associate Director of Facilities and Operations at Rhode Island College.
