RIC ENDS SEASON IN, 3-1, LOSS TO PANTHERS

Plymouth, N.H.--Plymouth, N.H.--Senior outside hitter Courtney Lambrese (Cranston, RI) recorded a double-double with 15 kills and 17 digs, while senior setter Abigayl White (Coventry, RI) handed out her 3,000th career assist as the Rhode Island College volleyball team wrapped up the 2017 campaign with a 3-1 (25-18, 27-29, 23-25, 18-25) setback at Plymouth State in a Little East Conference contest on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Junior outside hitter Jillian Ward (Coventry, RI) also registered a double-double with 12 kills and 15 digs in the setback for RIC. She added four blocks and a service ace.

White recorded a double-double with 31 assists and 10 digs in the match. White closes out her career with 3,017 assists. She is one of only two student-athletes in program history to eclipse the 3,000 career assist mark.

Freshman libero Samantha Borges (Swansea, MA) tied a team-high with 17 digs for the Anchorwomen.

Plymouth State was paced by senior outside hitter Claire Sporer (Medford, OR) with a match-high 20 kills, nine digs and a block. 

Senior setter Megan Bailey (Canterbury, NH) had 40 assists and 15 digs for the hosts.

 

BY THE NUMBERS
RIC registered a .149 (39-17-148) hitting percentage, while Plymouth State hit .183 (48-20-153) in the victory.

The Anchorwomen totaled 66 digs and six service aces in the setback.

Plymouth State had 92 digs, 11 service aces and six blocks in the win.
