JORDYN GAUVIN NAMED LITTLE EAST
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Providence, R.I.-Rhode Island College sophomore guard Jordyn Gauvin (Fall River, MA) was named the Little East Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for her performance in a 3-0 week for the Anchorwomen.

 

Gauvin played in three games, starting all of them. She averaged 19.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg and 2.6 apg in three victories. It marks the first time that RIC has started a season with a 3-0 mark since the 2009-10 campaign.

 

 

 

Gauvin opened the season with 19 points and nine rebounds to lead the team to a 50-44 win at Salem State on Nov. 15. She followed that with a career-best 23 points, to go with three rebounds, three assists and three steals, in a 56-43 win vs Elms in the opening game of the Gordon Invitational on Nov. 17. Gauvin wrapped up the week by narrowly missing a double-double with 15 points, nine rebounds, three assists and one steal in a 47-41 win vs. Manhattanville at the Gordon Invitational on Nov. 18.

 

In upcoming action, Head Coach Jenna Cosgrove’s team will play at Bridgewater State on Tuesday, Nov. 21 (5:30 p.m.).
