MURPHY PACES WOMEN’S GYMNASTICS
AT WEST CHESTER TRI

West Chester, Pa.—Junior Miranda Murphy (Lansdale, PA) finished first in the all-around (35.950), eighth on floor (9.425) and 10th on bars (8.550) as Rhode Island College competed at a tri-match hosted by West Chester on Saturday afternoon.

 

West Chester picked up two wins with a team score of 192.050, while SUNY Cortland went 1-1 with a team score of 185.30. The Anchorwomen posted a team score of 174.800.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Murphy also finished in an 11th-place tie on both vault (9.075) and beam (8.900).

 

• Sophomore Grace Davis (Royersford, PA) finished eighth on beam (9.225) and tied for 10th on floor (9.350).

 

• Freshman Christa Vaccaro (Winthrop, MA) led the team with a 9.125 on vault, which was good for a 10th place finish. She also placed 12th on bars (8.175) and was 15th on floor (8.450).

 

• Senior Erin Shea (Braintree, MA) finished 11th on floor (9.225) and placed 13th on vault (8.950).

 

WHAT’S NEXT

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at Div. II Southern Connecticut on Saturday, Feb. 3 (1 p.m.).
