MURPHY & SKERL LEAD ANCHORWOMEN
IN, 189.525-177.550, LOSS AT SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT

New Haven, Conn.-Junior Miranda Murphy (Lansdale, PA) finished first in the all-around (36.525), while freshman Kaela Skerl (Albuquerque, NM) took second (34.925), as the Rhode Island College women's gymnastics team suffered a 189.525-177.550 setback at Southern Connecticut on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Murphy finished seventh on vault (9.075), eighth on bars (8.850), fourth on beam (9.200) and seventh on floor (9.400).

 

• Skerl placed 10th on vault (8.950), 10th on bars (8.00), tied for seventh on beam (9.100) and 11th on floor (8.575).

 

• Senior Erin Shea (Braintree, MA) finished tied for fourth on vault (9.325).

 

• Sophomore Grace Davis (Royersford, PA) finished third on beam (9.450) and was eighth on floor (9.300) for the Anchorwomen.

 

WHAT’S NEXT

• In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at Div. I Brown on Sunday, Feb. 4 (noon).
