Rhode Island College Fall Sports Update #10
 

Men’s Cross Country

Providence, RI--Head Coach Dick Hoppman’s team closed out the 2001 season at the Division III New England Championships, hosted by Westfield State College, on Saturday, Nov. 10. The Anchormen placed 25th (35 Teams) with a score of 729. Keene State College won the meet with a score of 54.

Junior Tim Rudd (Warwick, RI) was the top finisher for RIC, placing 89th (247 competitors) with a time of 27:08.

Freshman Joe Parenteau (Smithfield, RI) placed 107th with a time of 27:37.

Freshman Mike Daniels (Warwick, RI) placed 166th with a time of 28:56.

Freshman Ruben Feliz (Providence, RI) placed 179th with a time of 29:23.

Junior Rob Geremia (Kingston, RI) placed 200th with a time of 30:42.

Junior co-captain Chris Puleo (Barrington, RI) placed 221st with a time of 31:42.

Sophomore Joe Giardina (West Warwick, RI) placed 238th with a time of 33:13.

 

Women’s Cross Country

Head Coach Matt Hird’s team closed out the 2001 season at the Division III New England Championships, hosted by Westfield State College, on Saturday, Nov. 10. The Anchorwomen did not enter a full scoring squad. Middlebury College won the meet with a score of 65.

Sophomore Michelle Boudreau (Lincoln, RI) placed 163rd with a time of 21:02.

Sophomore Rebecca Horton (Seekonk, MA) placed 204th with a time of 22:25.

Sophomore Leslie Eastwood (East Providence, RI) placed 214th with a time of 22:36.

Sophomore Michele Dunphy (Cranston, RI) placed 226th with a time of 23:06.
