Ferrara and Padykula to
Captain Rhode Island College Menís Golf

 

Providence, RIóRhode Island College junior Joe Padykula (Seekonk, MA) and sophomore Ken Ferrara (North Providence, RI) will captain the menís golf team for the 2002 spring season.

 

Ferrara averaged a score of 85 in two meets during the fall 2001 season. He shot a season-low score of 84 vs. Johnson and Wales on Sept. 14. As a freshman in 2002, he averaged a score of 85.67 for the season. His average on the front nine was 42.0 and he averaged a score of 43.67 on the back nine. His handicap was 13.7. Ferrara is a 2000 graduate of North Providence High School.

 

Padykula averaged a score of 90.3 in the teamís four meets during the fall 2001 season. Padykula shot a season-low score of 85 in the Sept. 28 match vs. UMASS-Dartmouth and Salve Regina. He competed for RICís indoor track and field team as a thrower this past winter. He is a nursing major and a 1999 graduate of Tri-County High School.

 

Head Coach John Fittaís Anchormen open the season at home against Western Connecticut and Newbury and Nichols on Wednesday, Mar. 27. RIC plays its home meets at Triggs Memorial Golf Course in Providence.
