Gerald Shellard Named Assistant  Athletic Director for
Intramurals and Recreation at RIC

 

Providence, RI--The Rhode Island College Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation named Gerald Shellard Assistant Athletic Director for Intramurals and Recreation. His primary responsibility will be the management of the College’s Recreation Center and its Intramural Program.

 

Shellard previously served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Medicine at RIC, a position he held since October of 1997.

 

Prior to joining the RIC staff, Shellard was the Director of Sports Medicine at Quinnipiac College from 1993-97.  He was also an adjunct professor at Quinnipiac, teaching courses in athletic training and physical therapy.  Shellard has also been the Head Athletic Trainer for the Hartwick College football team and has worked in the private sector.

 

He earned his Master of Science degree in education from Old Dominion University in 1992. Shellard is a 1990 graduate of Keene State College with a bachelor’s degree in physical education.

 

A native of Waterford, New York, he resides in Cranston, Rhode Island with his wife Tracy.
