Attleboro’s Dave Quaglia Named
First Team All-Little East Conference in Baseball

Providence, RI—Rhode Island College senior catcher Dave Quaglia (Attleboro, MA) was named First Team All-Little East Conference. He was the Anchormen’s only selection to the First and Second Team All-Star squads.

Quaglia closed out his final year of collegiate eligibility with the Anchormen in 2002. He played in 35 games, starting all of them. He batted .280 with 35 runs, 35 hits, 14 doubles, six home runs and 28 RBI. He owned a .536 slugging percentage, a .422 on-base percentage and a .980 fielding percentage. Quaglia led the team in runs, RBI, extra-base hits and RBI. He was one of only two players to start and play in each of the squad’s 35 contests. His 14 doubles in ’02 is the second highest total in RIC baseball history for a single season.

Prior to coming to RIC, Quaglia played at the Community College of Rhode Island in 1998 and 1999 where he earned All-New England honors as a backstop.

Quaglia is an elementary education major and a 1997 graduate of Attleboro High School.

Head Coach Jay Grenier’s team finished the 2002 season with a 10-25 overall record and a 2-12 (eighth place) mark in the Little East Conference.
