Alfred and Puleo to Captain Rhode Island College Men’s Cross Country
 

Providence, RI—Rhode Island College seniors Nick Alfred (Wakefield, RI) and Chris Puleo (Barrington, RI) will captain the men’s cross country team for the 2001 season.

As a junior in 2000, Alfred placed 199th, out of 252 runners, with a time of 30:26 at the New England Division III Championships. Alfred placed 81st overall, and 46th in the Little East, with a time of 31:48 at the Alliance Championships. There were 109 runners in all, 58 of which were from Little East institutions, at the Alliance Championships. He placed fourth with a time of 31:47 at the Eastern Nazarene Invitational. He placed 30th, out of 47 runners, with a season-best time of 30:39 at the Trinity Invitational.

He is an elementary education major and a 1998 graduate of South Kingstown High School.

As a junior in 2000, Puleo placed 226th, out of 252 runners, with a season-best time of 32:16 at the New England Division III Championships. He placed 207th with a time of 33:40 at the ECAC Division III Championships. Puleo placed 97th overall, and 52nd in the Little East, with a time of 34:09 at the Alliance Championships. There were 109 runners in all, 58 of which were from Little East institutions, at the Alliance Championships. He placed 11th with a time of 35:17 at the Eastern Nazarene Invitational. He placed 41st, out of 47 runners, with a time of 33:47 at the Trinity Invitational.

He is a sociology/criminal justice major and a 1998 graduate of Barrington High School.

The Anchormen open the 2001 season at the CCRI Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 10 a.m.
