Dunphy to Captain Rhode Island College Women’s Cross Country

Providence, RI—Rhode Island College junior Michele Dunphy (Cranston, RI) will captain the women’s cross country team for the 2001 season.

As a sophomore in 2000, Dunphy placed 229th, out of 260 competitors, at the New England Division III Championships with a time of 23:49. She placed 201st, out of 237 competitors, at the ECAC Division III Championships with a time of 26:10. She placed 73rd, out of 92 competitors at the Ray Dwyer Invitational with a time of 24:12. She posted her best time of the season at the Eastern Nazarene College Invitational, placing 12th with a time of 23:28.

She is an elementary education major and a 1999 graduate of Cranston High School East.

The Anchorwomen open the 2001 season at the CCRI Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 10 a.m.
