Amanda Yanski Named Second Team
All-Little East Conference
in Womenís Volleyball


Providence, RIóRhode Island College sophomore outside hitter Amanda Yanski (Woonsocket, RI) was named Second Team All-Little East Conference for her performance in womenís volleyball this season.


Yanski played in 102 games in 29 matches. She had 308 kills (3.020/game), a .279 hitting percentage, six assists (0.059/game), 56 service aces (0.549/game), 120 digs (1.176/game), and 46 blocks (0.451/game). Her 308 kills is a new single-season record at RIC. She was named to the RIC Invitational All-Tournament team. Yanski led the team in attempts, kills and hitting percentage. She was second in service aces and third in blocks.


She is an early childhood education major and a 1997 graduate of Mt. St. Charles Academy.


First-year Head Coach Craig Letourneauís team finished the season with a 13-16 overall record and a 3-4 (fifth place) mark in the Little East Conference. RIC improved upon last seasonís 11-21 mark while setting new team records in kills (1,058), sets (902) and service aces (278). RIC qualified for the 2002 Little East Tournament where they were eliminated with a 3-0 loss at Keene State on Nov. 6.
