Harris and Costigan to Captain

Rhode Island College Menís Basketball


Providence, RIóRhode Island College senior Mike Costigan (Pawtucket, RI) and sophomore Jason Harris (Bedford, MA) will captain the menís basketball team for the 2002-03 season.


As a junior forward in 2001-02, Costigan played in 25 games, starting 21 of them. He averaged 4.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, 0.6 steals and 1.4 assists per game on the season.


He is a criminal justice major and a 1999 graduate of St. Raphael Academy.


As a freshman in 2001-02, Harris played in 25 games, starting 20 of them. He averaged a team-high 9.8 points, 6.9 rebounds and 0.8 steals per game on the season.


He is a justice studies major and 2001 graduate of Bedford High School.


Head Coach Michael Kellyís Anchormen currently 1-1 on the season. RIC earned its first win of the 2002-03 season in the Scarlet Raider Tip-Off Classic semi-final game with an 81-60 victory over Becker College. RIC fell to host Rutgers-Newark in the championship game, 45-41.
