Rhode Island Collegeís J.O. White Named Second Team All-Little East


Providence, RIóRhode Island College junior forward Johnafer White (Boston, MA) has been named a Second Team All-Star by the Little East Conference for his performance in menís basketball this season.


White played in 24 games, starting 21 of them. He averaged 13.7 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.0 steals per game. He logged nine double-doubles on the year (points and rebounds). White recorded a season-high 26 points vs. UMass-Dartmouth on Jan. 28 and 18 rebounds vs. Southern Maine on Jan. 14.


He transferred into RIC this year after spending two seasons at Roxbury Community College. He is a management major and a 1998 graduate of West Roxbury High School.


Head Coach Michael Kellyís Anchormen finished the season with a 13-13 overall record and a 5-9 (seventh place) mark in the Little East Conference. RIC was eliminated from the Little East Tournament with a 90-75 loss at Plymouth State College on Tuesday, Feb. 25.
