Laurie Rizzotti Named Assistant Womenís Lacrosse Coach at Rhode Island College


Providence, RIóRhode Island College has named Laurie Rizzotti as the assistant womenís lacrosse coach. She will assist head coach Ryan Angel with all phases of RICís womenís lacrosse program including recruiting, scouting, administering practices and game coaching.


Rizzotti concluded an outstanding four-year career in womenís lacrosse at Salve Regina University in 2003, culminating with her selection as team MVP. She is the Seahawks all-time leader in assists and points, and second in goals. She was the Commonwealth Coast Conferenceís Offensive Player of the Year in 2000 and also picked up First Team All-CCC honors that same season. Rizzotti was a Second Team All-CCC selection in 2001 and 2002.


She also played womenís soccer at SRU in 1999 and 2000. Rizzotti earned a bachelorís degree in administration of justice from Salve Regina University in 2003.


A native of Canton, Massachusetts, Rizzotti is single and currently resides in Newport, Rhode Island. In addition to her coaching duties, she working on her masterís degree in administration of justice at Salve Regina.
