Erica Poirier to Captain
Rhode Island College Womenís Volleyball


Providence, RIóRhode Island College junior Erica Poirier (Woonsocket, RI) will captain the womenís volleyball team for the 2003 season.


Poirier, a middle hitter, played in 100 games in 29 matches in 2002. She had 150 kills (1.500/game), a .144 hitting percentage, one assist (0.010/game), 37 service aces (0.370/game), 44 digs (0.440/game), and 141 blocks (1.410/game). Poirier led the team in blocks and was third in kills.

She is a biology major with a chemistry minor and is a 1999 graduate of Hillsborough High School in Tampa, FL.


Head Coach Craig Letourneauís team open the season at home vs. Johnson & Wales on Tuesday, September 9 at 7 p.m.
