Liz Barrette and Caitlin Morin Earn
Little East Women’s Tennis Honors


Providence, RI—Rhode Island College sophomore Liz Barrette (North Providence, RI) was named the Little East Conference’s Women’s Tennis Player of the Week, while freshman Caitlin Morin (Westerly, RI) was named the Little East Conference’s Women’s Tennis Rookie of the Week.


Barrette was a perfect 3-0 at number one singles and doubles last week, while Morin posted a 3-0 record last week at number-five singles and a 2-0 mark at number-three doubles. This is Morin’s second consecutive LEC honor. On the season, Barrette is 6-2 (.800) in singles and 6-2 (.600) in doubles for 9.0 points on the season. Morin has posted a 4-3 (.571) singles record with a 2-3 (.400) doubles mark for 5.0 points on the season.

Barrette is a physical education major and a 2001 graduate of North Providence High School. Morin is an elementary education major with a special education minor and a 2003 graduate of Westerly High School.


Head Coach Kelly Lange’s team is 5-3 (2-0 LEC) on the season. In upcoming action, RIC will host Bridgewater State on Monday, Sept. 29 at 3:30 p.m. and Roger Williams on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 3:30 p.m., before traveling to UMass-Dartmouth on Saturday, Oct. 4.
