Rhode Island College Womenís Lacrosse Update #1

(2-1 Overall; 0-0 in the Little East)

Providence, RI--Head Coach Ryan Angelís team is 2-1 overall and has yet to face a Little East Conference opponent. The Anchorwomen opened the season on Tuesday, Mar. 23 at Curry College where they were defeated, 15-2. RIC then was victorious at home over Lasell, 11-10 in double overtime, on Thursday, Mar. 25 and against Worcester State, 12-4, on Saturday, Mar. 27.

 

Freshman center Caitlin Gavin (Portsmouth, RI) has played three games, starting all of them. She has a team-high 11 points on a team-best 11 goals. Gavin also has compiled a team-high 33 shots, 27 on goal, 20 ground balls and 13 draw controls.

 

Sophomore defender/attacker Crystal Colagiovanni (Johnston, RI) has played three games, starting all of them. She has five points on five goals. Colagiovanni has compiled 17 shots, 14 on goal, 15 ground balls and one draw control.

 

Junior attacker Rachael Pecoraro (Smithfield, RI) has played three games, starting all of them. She has three points on three goals. Pecoraro has compiled 11 shots, nine on goal, seven ground balls and two draw controls.

 

Senior defender Erin Grant (Coventry, RI) has played three games, starting all of them. She has two points on two goals. Grant has compiled nine shots, five on goal, six ground balls and one draw control.

 

Freshman attacker Shana Griffin (Barre, VT) has played three games, starting all of them. She has three points on two goals and one assist. Griffin has compiled nine shots, seven on goal, eight ground balls and two draw controls.

 

Senior attacker Kim Wells (Granby, CT) has played three games, starting all of them. She has one point on one assist. Wells has compiled three shots, five ground balls and one draw control.

 

Junior defender Erika Babat (North Kingstown, RI) has played three games, starting all of them. She has 19 ground balls and two draw controls.

 

Junior defender/attacker Danielle Beaudry (West Greenwich, RI) has played three games, starting all of them. She has five points on two goals and a team-high three assists. Beaudry has compiled five shots, three on goal, nine ground balls and three draw controls.

 

Junior attacker Victoria Bilalyan (Cranston, RI) has played three games, starting one of them. She has compiled three shots, all on goal, three ground balls and one draw control.

 

Freshman goalkeeper Micaela Morris (Barrington, RI) has played three games, starting all of them. She has played 187:10 minutes, compiled a record of 2-1, a 9.30 goals against average, a .586 save percentage and eight ground balls.

 

Senior defender Cara Collins (Johnston, RI) has played two games, starting both of them.

 

Sophomore defender/attacker Kerri Higgins (Harrisville, RI) has played three games, starting two of them. She has one ground ball.

 

Sophomore defender Megahn McKervey (Mansfield, MA) has played three games, starting all of them. She has eight ground balls and one draw control.

 

Freshman defender/attacker Brittany Rosen (Derry, NH) has played two games, starting one of them. She has seven ground balls and three draw controls.

 

Sophomore attacker Ashley Cardin (Cumberland, RI) has yet to appear in a game.

 

Sophomore attacker Danielle Egan (North Falmouth, MA) has yet to appear in a game.

 

Sophomore attacker Jessica Maher (Warwick, RI) has yet to appear in a game.

 

In upcoming action, the Anchorwomen travel to Nichols College on Monday, Mar. 29 for a 3:30 p.m. contest, then host Roger Williams on Thursday, Apr. 1 at 4 p.m. and Castleton State on Friday, Apr. 2 at 3:30 p.m.
