RIC DOMINATES EMERSON, 16-4

            Providence, RI--Rhode Island College evened its record at 7-7 with a, 16-4, victory over Emerson College in collegiate women's lacrosse action. Emerson remains winless, falling to 0-4 on the season.

 

Sophomore Crystal Colagiovanni (Johnston, RI) scored the first of her game-high five goals just 13 seconds into the game as the Anchorwomen built a 6-3 half-time lead. RIC exploded for ten second-half goals to put the contest out of reach. Freshman Caitlin Gavin (Portsmouth, RI) posted a game-high six points with four goals and two assists. 11 different RIC players registered at least a point in the win. Freshman goalie Micaela Morris (Barrington, RI) made six saves to earn the victory.

 

Emerson junior Mary Kaeppel (Greenfield, MA) scored twice and senior goalie Jen Milligan (West Islip, NY) made 13 saves in a losing effort.

 

In upcoming action, RIC will play at Western Connecticut on Saturday, Apr. 24.
