Caitlin Gavin Named Women's Lacrosse MVP

 

Providence, RI--The Rhode Island College Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation held its annual Spring Banquet at RICís Donovan Dining Center on Monday, May 3 to honor those student-athletes who participate in varsity spring athletics. Freshman center Caitlin Gavin (Portsmouth, RI) was named the women's lacrosse team's MVP.

 

Gavin played 15 games, starting all of them. She had 43 goals and ten assists for 53 points and was named First Team All-Little East. Gavin also compiled a team-high 98 shots, 76 on goal, 82 ground balls and 74 draw controls. Gavin was named the Little East Conference's Rookie of the Week three times during the season.

 

She is a 2003 graduate of Portsmouth High School.
