Kim Warrington Named Softball MVP


Providence, RI--The Rhode Island College Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation held its annual Spring Banquet at RICís Donovan Dining Center on Monday, May 3 to honor those student-athletes who participate in varsity spring athletics. Senior pitcher/designated player Kim Warrington (North Kingstown, RI) was named the softball team's MVP.


Warrington, a Second Team All-Little East selection for the fourth consecutive year, has played in 27 games, starting 23 of them. She is batting .286 with 20 hits, four doubles, two home runs, seven walks, five runs and 11 RBI. Warrington owns a team-best .429 slugging percentage, a .351 on-base percentage and a .925 fielding percentage. On the mound, Warrington has appeared in 26 games, starting 18 of them. She owns an 11-7 record with a 2.04 ERA. In 137.0 innings pitched, she has struck out a team-high 169 batters.


Warrington, RIC's all-time leader in career wins and strikeouts, earned Little East Conference Pitcher of the Week honors once this season.


She is an elementary/special education major and a 2000 graduate of North Kingstown High School.
