Len Mercurio Steps Down

From Rhode Island College Men's Soccer Post

Providence, RI--Len Mercurio has resigned his position as head men's soccer coach at Rhode Island College. A search for a new head coach will begin immediately.

"It is with much sadness that I announce my resignation as the head coach of men's soccer at Rhode Island College," Mercurio says. "I find it no longer possible to fulfill the team's coaching needs because of my full-time position at WPRI-TV. I am thankful for the opportunity to have led the men's soccer team. I am proud that this team is one of the best in New England and has great potential."

Mercurio led the Anchormen for six seasons from 1999-2003, compiling a 53-53-8 (.500) record at the helm. The program only had one losing season during Mercurio's tenure and won ten or more games four times. RIC posted back-to-back 11-win campaigns in 2002 (11-8) and 2003 (11-9).
