Piette and Rudd to Captain

Menís Indoor Track & Field


Providence, RIóRhode Island College junior Marc Piette (Woonsocket, RI) and senior Tim Rudd (Warwick, RI) will captain the menís indoor track and field team for the 2003-04 season.


As a sophomore in 2002-03, Piette placed 24th in the weight throw at the ECAC Championships. He placed 13th in the same event at the New England Championships. Piette earned All-Alliance/Little East honors in the weight throw and the shot, placing first and seventh, respectively.


He is a physical education/health major and a 2000 graduate of Woonsocket High School.


As a junior in 2002-03, Rudd placed 12th as part of the distance medley relay team with a time of 10:24.19 at the ECAC Championships, establishing a new RIC record in the process. He earned All-New England honors in the 1,000 meters and as a part of the distance medley team. Rudd earned All-Alliance/Little East honors in the 600 and 1,000 meters.


He is a political science major, with a minor in geography, and a 1999 graduate of Pilgrim High School.


Head Coach Kevin Jacksonís team opens the season at the Brown Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 10 a.m.
