Rhode Island College Announces
2003 Fall Sports MVPs


Providence, RI--The Rhode Island College Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation held its annual Fall Banquet at RICís Donovan Dining Center on Monday, Dec. 1 to honor those student-athletes who participate in varsity fall athletics. Each sport gave out their Most Valuable Player Award.


Menís Soccer

Sophomore forward Kyle Teixeira (Warren, RI) was named the menís soccer teamís MVP. Teixeira was named First Team All-Little East Conference for the second consecutive season. Teixeira played in 20 games, starting 19 of them. He had 24 goals, seven game-winners, and six assists for 54 points this season. Teixeiraís 24 goals were a new RIC record for a single season. Teixeira ranks second in career goals (42) and career points (95) at RIC. He finished the year one point shy of the RIC single-season record for points.

He is a physical education major and a 2002 graduate of Mt. Hope High School.
