Kari Geisler Earns
Little East Women’s Basketball Honors

 Providence, RI—Rhode Island College freshman center Kari Geisler (Derry, NH) was named the Little East Conference’s Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week.


Geisler scored a game-high 22 points and added eight rebounds off the bench in the Anchorwomen’s narrow two-point victory over Roger Williams on Dec. 4. She hit two free throws with just four seconds remaining to give RIC its third victory of the season, which matches the win output of all of last season. Geisler has played in all four contests and currently leads the team in scoring and rebounding averaging 14.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.


Geisler is a physical education major with a minor in Spanish and a 2003 graduate of Pinkerton Academy.


Head Coach Spencer Manning’s team is 3-1 (0-0 LEC) on the season. In upcoming action, RIC travels to Johnson and Wales on Tuesday, Dec. 9 for a 5:30 p.m. tilt, then hosts LEC foes Plymouth State on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m. and Eastern Connecticut on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 1 p.m.
