Rhode Island College Men’s Indoor Track Update #3

Providence, RI--Head Coach Kevin Jackson’s team competed at the Yale Classic on Saturday, Jan. 10.

Senior Tim Rudd (Warwick, RI) placed second in the 800 meters with a time of 2:00.60. He finished fifth in the mile with a time of 4:26.60 at the Harvard Invitational on Dec. 13. He placed first in the 1,000 meters with a time of 2:36.67 at the Alden Invitational on Dec. 6.

Junior Joe Parenteau (Smithfield, RI) finished seventh in the 800 meters with a time of 2:00.27. He placed fourth in the mile with a time of 4:32.22 at the Alden Invitational on Dec. 6.

Junior Marc Piette (Woonsocket, RI) placed ninth in the weight throw with a distance of 41’06.50”. He finished seventh in the weight throw with a distance of 13.40 meters at the Harvard Invitational on Dec. 13. He placed third in the weight throw with a distance of 46’00.50” at the Alden Invitational on Dec. 6.

Sophomore Nick Palazzo (Providence, RI) finished ninth in the weight throw with a distance of 13.15 meters at the Harvard Invitational on Dec. 13. He placed fourth in the weight throw with a distance of 43’07.75” at the Alden Invitational on Dec. 6.

Sophomore Richard Palazzo (Providence, RI) placed 14^th in the weight throw with a distance of 37’09.50”. He finished 16^th in the weight throw with a distance of 11.63 meters at the Harvard Invitational on Dec. 13. He placed ninth in the weight throw with a distance of 34’05.00” at the Alden Invitational on Dec. 6.

Junior Josh Precourt (Woonsocket, RI) placed 24^th in the 400 meters with a time of 54.77. He finished 19^th in the 400 meters with a time of 55.28 at the Harvard Invitational on Dec. 13. He placed fifth in the 400 meters with a time of 55.81 at the Alden Invitational on Dec. 6.

Freshman Jam Luong (Millbury, MA) placed 15^th in the long jump with a distance of 17’10.75”. He finished sixth in the long jump with a distance of 5.58 meters and 28^th in the 400 meters with a time of 57.13 at the Harvard Invitational on Dec. 13. He placed ninth in the 200 meters with a time of 26.14 and sixth in the long jump with a mark of 17’07.00” at the Alden Invitational on Dec. 6.

Freshman Andy Neil (Warwick, RI) placed 25^th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:12.79. He finished 14^th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:09.79. He placed second in the 1,000 meters with a time of 2:47.46 at the Alden Invitational on Dec. 6.

Freshman Javon Partin (Providence, RI) placed 20^th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:08.59. He finished 11^th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:07.46 at the Harvard Invitational on Dec. 13. He placed third in the 1,000 meters with a time of 2:47.46 at the Alden Invitational on Dec. 6.

Freshman Eric Lonergan (North Kingstown, RI) placed 16^th in the mile with a time of 4:41.55. He finished tenth in the mile with a time of 4:39.81 at the Harvard Invitational on Dec. 13. He placed seventh in the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:36.62 at the Alden Invitational on Dec. 6.

Freshman Tim Goodwin (Warwick, RI) finished 11^th in the mile with a time of 4:44.56. He placed eighth in the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:43.03 at the Alden Invitational on Dec. 6.

Senior Mike Basilico (Johnston, RI) placed 11^th in the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:58.46 at the Alden Invitational on Dec. 6.

Freshman Chris Matteson (Wood River Junction, RI) placed 16^th in the preliminary round of the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 8.96 and 40^th in the 400 meters with a time of 58.44. He finished eighth in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.49 and 27^th in the 400 meters with a time of 57.06 at the Harvard Invitational on Dec. 13. He placed eighth in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 9.06 at the Alden Invitational on Dec. 6.

Freshman Dan Newman (Smithfield, RI) finished sixth in the high jump with a mark of 6’01.25”. He placed third in the high jump with mark of 6’02.00” at the Alden Invitational on Dec. 6.

Freshman Matt Goroza (West Warwick, RI) finished 37^th in the prelims of the 55 meters with a time of 7.36 and 41^st in the 400 meters with a time of 59.29. He placed 32^nd in the 60 meters with a time of 7.64 and 29^th in the 200 meters with a time of 25.47 at the Harvard Invitational on Dec. 13.

Freshman John Martinelli (North Providence, RI) finished 33^rd in the prelims of the 55 meters with a time of 7.17. He placed 16^th in the 60 meters with a time of 7.60 and 16^th in the 400 meters with a time of 54.59 at the Harvard Invitational on Dec. 13.

In upcoming action, RIC will compete at the Cardinal Invitational hosted by Wesleyan University on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 10 a.m.
