Kari Geisler Earns
Little East Women’s Basketball Honors
For Fourth Time This Season

 Providence, RI—Rhode Island College freshman center Kari Geisler (Derry, NH) was named the Little East Conference’s Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week for the fourth time in ’03-04.


Geisler averaged 15.0 points and 7.5 rebounds to help RIC split a pair of games last week. In the Anchorwomen’s, 65-59, victory over LEC foe UMass-Boston on Jan. 10, Geisler scored 16 points, grabbed eight rebounds and blocked two shots. On the season, she has played in 11 games, starting six of them and leads the team in scoring and rebounding, averaging 15.3 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.


Geisler is a physical education major with a minor in Spanish and a 2003 graduate of Pinkerton Academy.


Head Coach Spencer Manning’s team is 7-4 (2-1 LEC) on the season. In upcoming action, RIC will travel to face nationally-ranked, LEC-foe, Southern Maine on Tuesday, Jan. 13 at 5:30 p.m., before hosting a pair of games at The Murray Center, first versus Pine Manor on Thursday, Jan. 15 at 6 p.m., then conference opponent Keene State visits RIC on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 1 p.m.
