Providence, RI—Rhode Island College defeated Western New England College, 34-13, in a matchup of New England College Conference Wrestling Association rivals. The Anchormen improve to 10-7 overall and 5-4 in the NECCWA, while the loss drops the Golden Eagles to 3-11 overall and 2-7 in the conference.

RIC junior Justin Deveau (North Attleboro, MA) picked up a pin in the evening’s first match to give RIC the lead which it never relinquished. Juniors Dave Paquette (Ledyard, CT) and Keith Nelson (Rhinebeck, NY), as well as freshman Olutosin Taylor (Copiague, NY) also earned pins in the win.

In upcoming action, RIC will compete at MIT on Wed. Feb. 4.
