Eric Gibree to Captain
Rhode Island College Baseball Team


Providence, RIóRhode Island College senior Eric Gibree (Bristol, RI) will captain the Anchormen baseball team for the 2004 season.


Gibree, a first baseman, has played in seven games, starting six of them, this season. He is leading the team in batting with a .556 average. He currently has ten hits, one double, one home run, three runs scored and seven RBI. Gibree owns a .778 slugging percentage, a .609 on-base percentage and a 1.000 fielding percentage. With his ten hits this season, Gibree is now just four hits shy of the RIC all-time record of hits in a career (157).


He is a communications major and a 1999 graduate of La Salle High School.


Head Coach Jay Grenierís team opened the season in Florida playing nine games at the Clearwater Invitational. The squad finished the trip with a 5-4 record versus competition which included three nationally ranked teams.
