Caitlin Gavin Named
First Team All-Little East Conference

Providence, RIóRhode Island College sophomore center Caitlin Gavin (Portsmouth, RI) was named First Team All-Little East Conference. Gavin also earned this honor as a freshman in 2004.

Gavin played in 15 games, starting all of them. She had 87 goals and 15 assists for 102 points. Three of her goals were game-winners. She had 181 shots, 93 ground balls, 29 caused turnovers and 94 draw controls. She established new RIC records for a season in goals, assists, points, shots, ground balls and draw controls.

Gavin once again virtually re-wrote the RIC record book this spring. She tied the RIC record for goals in a game with nine, reaching that mark twice this season on Apr. 18 vs. Curry and again on Apr. 28 vs. St. Joseph. She established a new RIC record for assists in a game with four helpers vs. Castleton on Apr. 10 and with 12 points and 14 draw controls vs. St. Joseph on Apr. 28. Her 11 ground balls vs. Elms on Apr. 19 was a new RIC record for a game.

Gavin is currently RICís all-time leader in career goals, points, ground balls, draw controls and shots.

Head Coach Ryan Angelís team was 8-7 overall and were 0-6 in the Little East. RIC was selected to compete at the 2005 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) N.E. Div. III Womenís Lacrosse Tournament, the first post-season berth of any kind in the programís history. RICís eight wins were a new program record for a single season.
