Craig Letourneau Named Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach
at Rhode Island College


Providence, RI—Rhode Island College has named Craig Letourneau as an assistant women’s basketball coach. Letourneau will assist Head Coach Spencer Manning with all phases of the RIC women’s basketball program including recruiting, scouting, administering practices and game coaching.


He also serves as Rhode Island College’s head women’s volleyball coach. Letourneau led the Anchorwomen to their first-ever Little East Conference regular season title, earning the Co-Championship in 2004.


Letourneau says, “I am excited to join the RIC women’s basketball program and work with Coach Manning this upcoming season. Coaching volleyball here at RIC as well, I am already familiar with the program and its players and look forward to helping Anchorwomen contend for an LEC title.”


In addition to an impressive volleyball coaching career at both the collegiate and interscholastic level, the Woonsocket, Rhode Island native has also excelled on the basketball sideline as well. He was previously the head girls’ basketball coach at Lincoln High School from 1998-2005. In 2004-05, he was named the Rhode Island Division II Central Girls’ Basketball Coach of the Year as he led the Lady Lions to the R.I. Div. II State title. He earned the same Coach of the Year honors in both 2000-01 and 2002-03 and led Lincoln to the R.I. Div. II Girls’ Basketball State Tournament Final Four three times in seven seasons.


He began his basketball coaching career as the assistant boys’ basketball coach at Mt. St. Charles Academy from 1996-98.


Letourneau earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Rhode Island College in 2000.


He resides in Woonsocket, Rhode Island with his wife Julie and their son Cameron.
