Jack Perri Resigns as
Head Menís Basketball Coach


Providence, RIóRhode Island College Head Menís Basketball Coach Jack Perri has resigned to take a position as an assistant coach at Long Island University.


Perri, in his first year as a collegiate head coach, guided the 2004-05 Anchormen to a 20-9 overall record and a 10-2 mark in the Little East Conference. Perri was named the LEC Menís Basketball Coach of the Year as RIC shared the Conference Regular Season Title with Western Connecticut State University. The Anchormen were also selected to play in the 2005 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England Div. III Tournament.


The Anchormenís regular season co-championship marked the first time in the programís history that RIC finished atop the Little East standings. The Anchormenís 20 wins were the most in a season since the 1988-89 club also won 20. RIC also made its first ECAC Tournament appearance since 1996-97 and the Anchormen made it to the championship game for the first time since the 1982-83 team won the tourney.
