Rhode Island College Wrestling Ranked 29th Nationally

(0-0 Overall; 0-0 in the NECCWA; 0-0 in the Pilgrim League)

Providence, RI—The Rhode Island College wrestling team is ranked 29th nationally in the latest Div. III Wrestling Coaches’ Association poll. This the first time the Anchormen have been nationally ranked in over a decade.


Head Coach Jay Jones’ team opened the 2004-05 season at two very competitive tournaments. The Anchormen placed third (12 teams) with a team score of 138.5 at the Roger Williams Invitational on Saturday, Nov. 13. Johnson & Wales won the tourney with a score of 145. RIC moved on to the always tough Doug Parker Invitational, hosted by Springfield College, on Saturday, Nov. 20 and placed sixth (21 teams) with a team score of 69.5. Springfield won the tourney with a score of 153.5.


In upcoming action, RIC will compete at the R.I.T. Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 4.
