Rhode Island College Announces
2004 Fall Sports MVPs




Providence, RI-- The Rhode Island College Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation held its annual Fall Banquet at RICís Donovan Dining Center on Monday, Dec. 6 to honor those student-athletes who participate in varsity fall athletics. Each sport gave out their Most Valuable Player Award.



Womenís Cross Country

Freshman Michelle Batchelder (Vernon, CT) was named the womenís cross country teamís MVP. She was RICís top runner at the New England Div. III Championships, placing 163rd with a time of 26:12. She was RICís top runner at the ECAC Championships, placing 93rd with a time of 26:16 on Nov 6. She placed 25th with a season-best time of 20:53 at the Alliance Championships on Oct. 30. Batchelder placed 46th with a time of 17:32 at the Plansky Invitational (shortened course) on Oct. 23. She placed 24th at the RWU Invitational with a time of 21:57 on Oct. 9. She finished 35th at the Ray Dwyer Invitational with a time of 22:08 on Sept. 25. She was the Anchorwomenís lone runner, placing 10th overall with a time of 23:20 at the Ocean State Invitational on Sept. 9.

She is a 2003 graduate of Rockville High School.
