Rhode
Island College Names Carlina Ferreira
Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach
|

Providence, RI—Rhode
Island College has named Carlina Ferreira as the assistant
women’s lacrosse coach. She will assist Head Coach Ryan Angel
with all phases of the RIC women’s lacrosse program including,
recruiting, scouting, administering practice and game coaching. |
|
“I’m really
looking forward to working with the developing women’s lacrosse
program at Rhode Island College,” Ferreira says. “I believe Coach
Angel’s offensive tactics and my defensive background will mesh well
with the current talent on the team to create an LEC powerhouse in
this and the years to come.” |
|
The
Taunton, Massachusetts native played four seasons of women’s lacrosse
and soccer as an undergraduate at UMass Dartmouth. In lacrosse,
Ferreira was a four-year starter on defense who also served as team
captain. |
|
She was
previously the varsity head girls’ lacrosse loach at New Bedford High
School in 2004 and 2005. She was also an assistant girls’ soccer coach
at Taunton High School in 2002. |
|
She earned
a bachelor’s degree in marketing from UMass Dartmouth in 2003. |
|
She resides
in New Bedford, Massachusetts. |
